The Seattle Mariners had to reckon with Texas Rangers hurler Juaron Watts-Brown. Watts-Brown, who is tied for 10th in the AL with a 8.7 K/9 rate, overwhelmed the opposition in the 7-1 Rangers triumph. Texas reliever Juaron Watts-Brown got the win, raising his record to 17-7. Brett Antolick was tagged with the loss. Texas is second in the American League West Division with a record of 82-78.

It could have been a different outcome for Texas, had it not been for Daniel Rivero, the 27-year old center fielder . Rivero contributed a run-scoring triple in the top of the sixth inning to put Texas up, 2-0.

"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Rangers manager Eric Jones, "I like our chances."
