Rangers Fall, 9-7, to Soderstrom, Athletics

The Oakland Athletics bested the Texas Rangers, 9-7, at Oakland Coliseum. Tyler Soderstrom was one of the standouts. He went 3-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Zach Jackson earned his 35th save in 41 chances. The Athletics are now 74-85, while the Rangers fall to 88-71.
Soderstrom contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Oakland in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 6-4, Soderstrom took a fastball from Brayan Bello and stroked the home run to left-center. His 26th home run of the season allowed the Athletics to leap in front, 8-6.
"We played hard and won," said Soderstrom. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
