Rockies Down Dodgers, 7-5
|
The Colorado Rockies had to overcome a big game from Los Angeles center fielder Brenton Doyle to leave Dodger Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning, 7-5. Doyle was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The Rockies are now 71-88.
Colorado used the timely hitting of Nolan Jones to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Rockies on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Colorado manager Quentin Nogosek.
