Red Sox Win, 10-9, at Toronto
|
The Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays lit up the scoreboard.
Damiano Palmegiani did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Toronto Blue Jays from losing, 10-9, to the Boston Red Sox at Rogers Centre. Palmegiani was 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Reliever Tanner Houck picked up the win. His record improves to 3-2. Ricky Tiedemann took the loss. Picking up the save was Kenley Jansen. He's now 29 for 33 in save chances.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jarren Duran? The Boston left fielder had a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Red Sox on top, 4-2. For the game, Duran had 1 double and 2 singles in 6 at-bats.
"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Duran, "but we got it done."
The last-place Blue Jays have lost 5 consecutive games.
