Cardinals Dealt 7-3 Home Loss
|
The St. Louis Cardinals and Cleveland Guardians were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Cleveland Guardians had to overcome a big game from St. Louis second baseman Brendan Donovan to leave Busch Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning 7-3. Donovan went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Shane Bieber earned the win to go to 6-15. He allowed 3 runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and no strikeouts in 7.1 innings of work.
Jose Ramirez, the Cleveland third baseman, contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to make the score 3-0, Guardians. For the game, Ramirez was 2 for 5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Winning is not something we take for granted," Ramirez said.
The Guardians improve their record to 62-95 with the win over St. Louis.
