Duran Lifts Red Sox to 11-3 Triumph
The Boston Red Sox pasted the Cleveland Guardians with a convincing 11-3 defeat at Progressive Field. Jarren Duran was a prime factor in the Boston win. He was 4-4 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Dennis Reguillo earned the win, while 36-year old right-handed pitcher Kevin Gausman took the loss for Cleveland. The Red Sox saw their win-loss record go to 97-59. At the same time, the Guardians fell to 80-75.

The Guardians had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Red Sox going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the two-time All-Star Triston Casas came to the plate. Casas hit a 2-run home run on a first pitch fastball from Cleveland hurler Kevin Gausman. It was Casas's 29th home run of the year.

Casas said the win provided a "big morale boost" for the team. "There's a good feeling in the clubhouse right now."
