Toronto Breezes to 14-2 Win
The Toronto Blue Jays cruised to a win over the Tampa Bay Rays, 14-2, at Rogers Centre. Ozzie Martinez led the way, going 3-for-5 for Toronto. The winning pitcher was 26-year old left-handed pitcher Ricky Tiedemann. He tossed 97 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits. The Blue Jays saw their win-loss record go to 68-87. At the same time, the Rays fell to 87-67.

Maikel Garcia had a big 2-run home run for the Blue Jays in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Toronto leading 4-2 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Shane Baz, who finished 2nd in the AL in wins with 17 in 2024, and swatted a home run to right. It was his 3rd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Blue Jays ahead, 6-2.
