Cincinnati Bats Go Silent in 1-0 Loss
In a low-scoring contest between the Miami Marlins and the Cincinnati Reds, Brady Garcia, who leads the NL with a 10.0 K/9 rate, proved to be the difference. The Miami left-hander earned props for his performance in the 1-0 Marlins win. The Marlins improved their record to 80-74 by beating Cincinnati.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Marlins had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when designated hitter Ryan Mountcastle hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Vladimir Gutierrez and made the score 1-0, Marlins. Mountcastle was 1 for 4.

"Scoring was at a premium tonight," Mountcastle said.
