New York Downed, 4-2, by Orioles
|
The Baltimore Orioles overcame a good performance by New York designated hitter Josh Naylor to knock off New York, 4-2, at Yankee Stadium. Naylor went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Baltimore reliever Cionel Perez picked up the win, upping his record to 7-4. Joe Musgrove was saddled with the loss. Felix Bautista closed it out for his 35th save.
Baltimore used the timely hitting of Jackson Holliday to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Orioles on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
After the game, Baltimore manager Ron Chiu applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
The Orioles have an impressive 94-59 record.
