Giants Come Back Late to Clip Orioles
|
The San Francisco Giants did just enough to sneak past the Baltimore Orioles, 4-3, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. San Francisco pitcher Logan Webb, in particular, had a standout performance. Evan Marshall closed it out for his 1st save. The win for the Giants raised their record to 78-74.
San Francisco used a clutch hit from Anthony Rendon to get the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Giants ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
After the game, San Francisco manager Sal Gaudio applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
