Royals Winners, 7-0, Over Twins
|
Starting pitcher Justin Steele had a solid game. He was a big reason the Kansas City Royals throttled the Minnesota Twins, 7-0. Steele, now 8-5, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Kansas City is 64-82 and Minnesota, with the loss, 92-55.
Kevin Parada went 1-4 for Kansas City. The 27-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring single off Åke Piechnik. It was his 33rd hit of the season.
"I was trying to do what I do, go out there and compete," said Steele.
