|
The Houston Astros thumped the Oakland Athletics, 8-0, at Minute Maid Park. Jose Altuve was a big reason his team got the win. Altuve hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Shawn Dubin, the winner, goes to 8-7. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts over 6 innings. Matthew Boyd converted his 1st save in 4 tries.
Early in the game, Altuve had a 2-run home run for Houston. It was his 30th home run of the season and put the Astros on top, 2-0.
"I wish every win came this easy," said Altuve.
The victory gives the Astros a record of 79-66.
