The Cleveland Guardians defeated the Tampa Bay Rays, 7-4, at Tropicana Field. Colton Cowser, who finished 4th in the AL in runs with 103 in 2025, was a standout performer for Cleveland. His 2 hits included 1 single and 1 double -- this in addition to the 2 runs he scored and 1 he knocked in. Emmanuel Clase locked down his 31st save. The Guardians improved their record to 75-71 by beating Tampa Bay.

Cleveland used the timely hitting of Jeferson Quero to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Guardians on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"If it's down the middle," said Cowser, "you might as well hit it."
