Twins Win 4-2 Nail-Biter Versus Yankees
|
The Minnesota Twins had to overcome a fine effort from New York pitcher Joe Musgrove to win, 4-2, in 12 innings at Target Field. Musgrove went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Art Warren picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-3. Cade Austin was tagged with the loss. Minnesota now owns a record of 72-72.
Minnesota got a jolt from Nick Kurtz. The designated hitter ripped a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 12th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it brought the house down.
"That was your kind of game, if you like high drama," said Twins manager Ryan Ranta.
