Blue Jays Handle Guardians, Nab 4-1 Win
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Toronto Blue Jays and Cleveland Guardians.
John Doxakis put on a pitching clinic, while helping the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Cleveland Guardians, 4-1. Doxakis, the winner, moves to 7-9. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 1 walk. Brusdar Graterol sewed up the save, his 15th.
Matt Wallner had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the second for Toronto. With the bases loaded and the Blue Jays leading 1-0, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"Watch and learn," said Wallner. "This is what good pitching looks like."
The Blue Jays raised their record to 62-81.
