Philadelphia Gets 10-6 Road Win
|
Despite a fine performance by right fielder George Springer, the Toronto Blue Jays lost to the Philadelphia Phillies, 10-6. Springer was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Andrew Bellatti, now 5-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. The third-place Phillies have won 4 straight.
Bryson Stott, who is tied for 8th in the NL with a .303 batting average, aided the Philadelphia cause with a 2-run triple in the top of the sixth. For the game, the shortstop was 2-3 with a triple, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
"I like the roll we're on," said Philadelphia manager Michael Ames.
