Braves Win Thriller, 5-4
|
The Atlanta Braves faced a tough opponent in Boston pitcher Zach Eflin, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Truist Park by a final score of 5-4. Eflin went 8 innings and allowed 3 runs. Atlanta reliever Julian Fernandez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-4. Josh Hader absorbed the loss. With the victory, the Braves upped their record to 80-59.
Tadasu Miyatake was the walk-off hero for Atlanta. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Braves third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This game had its share of tense moments," Miyatake said, postgame.
