Brewers Come Back Late to Clip Cardinals
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Brewers get after it.
The Milwaukee Brewers picked up a win at American Family Field, knocking off the St. Louis Cardinals, 4-3. Starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff was a big reason why. Logan Henderson, credited with the win, is now 6-3. He allowed no runs on 1 hit.
Had Sal Frelick not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Frelick hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Brewers.
"We squandered some opportunities," said St. Louis manager David Mendel.
The loss makes St. Louis 76-62.
