Thanks in large part to first baseman Jose Ramirez, the Cleveland Guardians beat the Tampa Bay Rays, 4-1. Ramirez went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Reliever Davis Sharpe picked up the win. His record improves to 5-1. Shane Baz, who finished 3rd in the AL in strikeouts with 203 last year, took the loss. The win puts Cleveland at 70-66 this season.

Ramirez made an early impact for Cleveland when he stroked his 16th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came in the bottom of the second, put the Guardians on top, 3-0.

"When the ball finds the sweet spot," said Ramirez, "I can't complain."
