The Texas Rangers got a sterling performance from pitcher Shane Bieber, but the Minnesota Twins still prevailed, 5-3. Bieber threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The win was credited to 34-year old right-handed pitcher Reynaldo Lopez in relief. His record improves to 4-0. Camilo Doval took the loss. Getting the save was Alex Scherff, his 34th.

Walker Jenkins went 1-3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI for Minnesota. The 23-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the eighth. With no one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Camilo Doval. It was his 14th RBI of the season.

"Every win gets us closer to our ultimate goal," said Jenkins.

Minnesota, at 87-49, is 15 games up in the American League Central Division.
