The Oakland Athletics had to overcome a fine effort from Texas pitcher Kumar Rocker to grab a narrow 1-0 win at Globe Life Field. Rocker went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Oakland starter Royber Salinas was credited with the win after throwing 79 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 6-7. Lou Trivino notched his 2nd save in 6 chances.

Oakland relied on the hitting of Yohel Pozo to pick up the win. The catcher ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Athletics on top, 1-0. For the game, Pozo had 1 triple and 1 single in 2 at-bats.
