Red Sox Need Extra Frames to Get Past Blue Jays
|
The Boston Red Sox overcame a good performance by Toronto designated hitter Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to knock off Toronto, 6-4, at Fenway Park. Guerrero Jr. went 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Boston reliever Ryan Zeferjahn was the winner. His record is now 8-1. Hagen Danner took the loss. The Red Sox now have a record of 67-67 with the win over Toronto.
Boston won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With no outs and Hagen Danner on the mound for Toronto, first baseman Triston Casas hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Red Sox fans to their feet.
"This place was rockin'," Casas said.
