Diamondbacks Fall Short, 1-0, at San Francisco
|
In a tight game between the San Francisco Giants and the Arizona Diamondbacks, pitcher Kyle Harrison was terrific on the mound. The San Francisco left-hander helped his team to the 1-0 win. San Francisco reliever Jose Cruz picked up the win to move to 3-3. Robbie Ray suffered the loss. San Francisco is now 51-84. Arizona is 67-66.
Had Marco Luciano not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Luciano hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Giants.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Arizona skipper Jim Silveira Sr..
