The Washington Nationals had to overcome a big game from New York center fielder Luisangel Acuna to leave Citi Field with a victory. And they did, winning, 9-7. Acuna slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Washington has now won 3 straight, while the Mets have lost 3 in a row.

Washington used the timely hitting of Connor Wong to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Nationals on top, 9-7. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Nationals manager Joe Bubanj. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
