Late Offense Lifts Los Angeles to 8-5 Victory
|
Freddie Freeman left his imprint on the 8-5 Los Angeles win against the Philadelphia Phillies. Freeman, who led the NL in batting average with .328 in 2025, was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Danny Offenburger was credited with the save, his 20th in 25 tries. Los Angeles sits in third place in the National League West Division at 60-67.
Carlos Avila helped out the Los Angeles cause in the top of the eighth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the catcher was 1-3.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Los Angeles manager Larry Paullin.
