Starting pitcher Chris Paddack did his part in helping the Minnesota Twins thwart the Texas Rangers, 6-1. Paddack got the win, improving to 12-7. He allowed 5 hits and walked 0 over 5.1 innings. Paddack allowed no runs. The save went to Louie Varland, his 1st this season.

The Twins got an important contribution from second baseman Royce Lewis, who in the top of the first punched a first pitch fastball into left-center for a 2-run home run. It was his 20th home run of the season and put the Twins ahead, 2-0.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Paddack told the Minnesota Bulletin.

The first-place Twins lifted their record to 67-55.
