Reds Take Tight Tilt
The Cincinnati Reds defeated the Kansas City Royals, 3-2, in National League action at Great American Ball Park. Cincinnati pitcher Rhett Lowder had a standout performance. The last-place Reds lifted their record to 56-68.

Cincinnati took the lead in the bottom of the sixth on a big hit from TJ Friedl. On a 2-1 changeup from Dylan Lee, Friedl hit a run-scoring single. That made it 3-2, Reds. For the day, Friedl was 2 for 4 with 2 singles.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Kansas City manager Patrick Ochs. "But we decided not to take it."
