Kansas City Sent Home with 2-1 Loss
|
Chicago pitcher Caleb Kilian did his part in helping his team defeat the Kansas City Royals, 2-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Reliever Chris Clarke picked up the win. His record improves to 9-8. Cody Morris took the loss. Picking up his 30th save was 29-year old right-handed pitcher Ethan Roberts.
Brennen Davis chipped in for Chicago, stroking a crucial run-scoring double in the bottom of the seventh inning. For the game, the left fielder went 1 for 1 with a double and 3 walks.
"Good ballgame," said Kansas City manager Patrick Ochs. "But we came up on the short end."
With the win, Chicago has a record of 68-54. Kansas City falls to 58-66.
