The Cincinnati Reds defeated the Milwaukee Brewers, 7-6, at American Family Field today. Leading the charge for Cincinnati was first baseman Spencer Steer. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Cincinnati reliever Sam Moll picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Devin Williams shouldered the loss. Earning his 22nd save of the year was Alexis Diaz.
The result might have been different, had it not been for Warming Bernabel, the Cincinnati designated hitter. Bernabel had a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Reds ahead, 7-6. For the game, Bernabel had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Milwaukee manager Mike Leitao. "But we decided not to take it."
Cincinnati is now 55-63.
