Bregman Bangs Out 5 Base Hits
|
It was high-fives all around for Alex Bregman at Fenway Park today.
He got them from his teammates and he got them at the plate during an outstanding hitting performance against the Boston Red Sox. Bregman smashed 5 hits in 5 at-bats on his monster day, leading his club to a 4-1 win.
"Alex was hitting everything," said Astros manager James Woolsey. "It really was a special game for him."
In the opposing dugout, Red Sox manager Joe Curtis told BNN beat writers that Bregman "ambushed" the club.
"Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but we'll have another chance," the skipper said. "Hopefully, Bregman oversleeps next time."
Alex Bregman singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 9th.
In 111 games this season Bregman is batting .251 with 103 hits and 6 home runs. He has scored 41 runs and driven in 34.
