Rangers Curb Astros, 8-5
|
Getting offensive support from Josh Jung, the Texas Rangers topped the Houston Astros, 8-5. Jung went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Rangers. The winner was Texas reliever Jack Leiter, now 3-0. The loser was Lance McCullers Jr.. Michel Baez recorded his 11th save for Texas.
In the bottom of the sixth, Texas left fielder Adolis García gave his team the lead. With one out and a runner on 1st, El Bombi hit his 29th home run of the year. Houston pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. surrendered it. With that, the Rangers jumped in front, 6-5.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Jung, "one at-bat at a time."
