San Francisco Dismisses Washington, 5-2
|
The San Francisco Giants defeated the Washington Nationals, 5-2, in National League action at Nationals Park. Brandon Crawford pulled his weight. The 14-year veteran was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Getting the save was Camilo Doval, his 33rd. The Giants bumped their record to 60-56 with this win.
San Francisco relied on the hitting of LaMonte Wade Jr. to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Giants on top, 4-2. For the game, Wade Jr. had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"The name on the front of this uniform is all that matters to me," Wade Jr. told the San Francisco Gazette. "And padding the San Francisco win column."
