San Francisco 7-0 Losers to Marlins
|
The Miami Marlins beat the San Francisco Giants, 7-0. Miami pitcher and Spanish Fort, Alabama, native Brady Garcia led the way. Garcia, now 11-9, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing no runs. Miami has run its win streak to 6 consecutive.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Josh Perrin? The Miami shortstop had a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Marlins on top, 2-0. For the game, Perrin had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Brady was the difference maker. He was emotionally under control, had good stuff and makeup," said Miami manager Creig McBride.
