Late Rally by Red Sox Locks Up 4-2 Win
|
The Boston Red Sox and Kansas City Royals played an exciting game.
The Boston Red Sox faced a tough opponent in Kansas City pitcher Blake Snell, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Kauffman Stadium by a final score of 4-2. Snell went 5.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Boston raised its record to 57-55 with the win.
Boston used a timely hit from Nathan Hickey to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Red Sox ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Hickey told the Boston Daily.
