Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Las Vegas Athletics got the win.

Las Vegas Athletics starter T.J. Sikkema was on his game, helping his team beat the Cleveland Guardians, 4-2. Sikkema picked up the win for Las Vegas, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 10-4.

Las Vegas used a well-timed hit by Tyler Soderstrom to capture the win. The first baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Athletics ahead, 4-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"T.J. was commanding his pitches," said Las Vegas manager Avi Scher.

The third-place Guardians dropped to 54-55.
