The Houston Astros and Pittsburgh Pirates obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.

Jose Altuve was a vital contributor to the 8-7 Houston victory over Pittsburgh. The Astros second baseman went 2-5 with a home run and a triple. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Houston reliever Rafael Montero got the win, raising his record to 4-4. David Bednar was tagged with the loss.

The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Houston trailing 7-6, Altuve hit a curveball from David Bednar for a 2-run home run, giving the Astros the walk-off win.

"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Altuve told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."

Pittsburgh's current losing streak is now 4 games.
