Giants Pop Athletics, 10-4
|
The San Francisco Giants defeated the Oakland Athletics, 10-4, in National League action at Oracle Park. Anthony Rendon pulled his weight. The 12-year veteran was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winning pitcher was Kyle Harrison. He's now 6-5. He went 5.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 1 hit for the Giants. San Francisco is now 57-52, Oakland 51-58.
Jason Heyward dealt the Athletics a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with runners on 1st and 3rd and San Francisco leading 3-1, Heyward, who is a five-time Gold Glove Award winner, hit a 1-0 slider for a 2-run double.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Heyward told the San Francisco Gazette.
