The home crowd had a good time watching the Minnesota Twins and New York Mets get after it.

The Mets grabbed a win, 2-1, at Citi Field, overcoming a fine effort from Minnesota pitcher Simeon Woods Richardson. Woods Richardson went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Shawn Armstrong got credit for the win, improving to 8-3. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings.

In the bottom of the seventh, New York left fielder Kris Bryant hit a run-scoring single to left field. The clutch hit made it, 2-1, Mets.

"Every loss hurts," said Minnesota manager Ryan Ranta. "But this was a tough one."

The victory gives the Mets a record of 66-42.
