Athletics Lose Late, 4-2
|
Oakland got a terrific performance from pitcher Royber Salinas, but it wasn't enough to beat the Los Angeles Angels. Los Angeles won the Angel Stadium of Anaheim contest, 4-2. Salinas threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. Los Angeles reliever Matt Moore picked up the win, upping his record to 6-3. Chad Smith was saddled with the loss. The win puts the Angels at 48-58, while the Athletics drop to 51-57.
Jo Adell was the walk-off hero for Los Angeles. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Angels left fielder hit a dramatic 2-run home run to send the teams home.
Adell described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
