Rockies Beat Giants, 5-4
|
The Colorado Rockies topped the San Francisco Giants by the score of 5-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to third baseman Brendan Rodgers. Rodgers went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Rockies on the day. Gavin Hollowell collected save number 22. The Rockies now own a record of 50-57.
Colorado used the timely hitting of Max Muncy to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rockies on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"They played a better game than we did," said San Francisco skipper Sal Gaudio.
