Phillies Get Hard-Earned Win
|
The Cincinnati Reds got a sterling performance from pitcher Rhett Lowder, but the Philadelphia Phillies still prevailed, 6-5. Lowder threw 5.0 innings allowing 3 runs. McKinley Moore notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 1.2 innings. His record now sits at 6-5. With the win, Philadelphia has a record of 59-44. Cincinnati falls to 48-55.
Philadelphia used the timely hitting of Alex Ramirez to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Phillies on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Ramirez.
