Arraez Socks It to Orioles, Cracks 5 Hits
|
It was a sensational day at the plate for Miami Marlins second baseman Luis Arraez, but a tough one for the team, as the Marlins dropped the contest 5-3 to the Baltimore Orioles.
Even with the loss, Arraez was pure misery for the Baltimore pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked after going 5-for-5 in an explosive display of hitting.
"It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win," said Arraez, who is the two-time All-Star .
"Arraez really hit the ball hard and when you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage," Orioles manager Ron Chiu told BNN reporters after the game. "I feel like we threw him some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Luis Arraez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Felix Bautista in the 9th.
Arraez is swinging at a .295 pace on the year with 5 home runs, 44 RBIs and 45 runs scored. He has played in 99 games.
