Twins Deny Royals, 3-2
|
The Minnesota Twins took Kansas City pitcher Daniel Vitriago's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Kauffman Stadium. The final score had Minnesota getting past the Royals, 3-2. Vitriago went 5 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 8. The second-place Twins now have a win-loss record of 50-49.
Minnesota used the hitting of Carlos Correa to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Twins on top, 3-2. For the game, Correa had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Correa told the Minnesota Chronicle.
