Reds Nudge Past Pirates, 1-0
|
Cincinnati Reds starter Eury Perez turned in a sterling performance against the Pittsburgh Pirates, leading his team to a slim, 1-0 win. By defeating Pittsburgh, the last-place Reds improved to 30-66.
Cincinnati took a 1-0 lead on Spencer Steer's 6th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Steer hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Pittsburgh pitcher Michael Kennedy visibly frustrated.
"When Eury is on, he can really move the ball around," said Cincinnati manager Jim Silveira Jr..
