Blue Jays Lose Late, 5-2
|
The San Francisco Giants topped the Toronto Blue Jays by a score of 5-2. Leading the way was first baseman Jurickson Profar. Profar went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Giants. The winner was Taylor Rogers in relief. His record improves to 5-5. Hagen Danner took the loss. San Francisco has a record of 50-44, placing them second in the National League West Division.
Profar had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-2 curveball from Zebulon Vermillion, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Giants a 5-2 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Profar.
"If it's down the middle," said Profar, "you might as well hit it."
