Red Sox Win Nail-Biter
|
Alex Ramirez did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Philadelphia Phillies from being beaten, 4-3, to the Boston Red Sox at Citizens Bank Park. Ramirez belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Boston reliever Josh Hader was the winner. His record is now 4-2. The losing pitcher was Ernesto Carrasco. Boston has a record of 48-39, placing them second in the American League East Division.
Boston took the lead, 4-3, on Nick Decker's 15th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Philadelphia pitcher Ernesto Carrasco in the top of the 11th.
"We had a chance to win," said Philadelphia manager Nate Rogers, "but we didn't get it done."
