Victory Pushes Mets Record to 48-33
|
New York picked up a win at Citi Field, bumping off the Houston Astros, 5-4. Pitcher Aaron Nola was a major reason the Mets emerged victorious. Edwin Díaz recorded the save for New York, his 19th of the season. New York is now 48-33, while Houston is 41-40.
In the bottom of the third, New York right fielder Anthony Santander had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Santander stroked a 2-run single to right. It made the score 4-2, New York. For the game, he went 3-4 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"I'm proud to wear a New York jersey," Nola told the New York Daily. "We played a good game and came out with the win. What more can you ask for?"
