Ceballos Stars in 7-6 Loss to Cincinnati
|
Sabin Ceballos did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Atlanta Braves from being beaten, 7-6, to the Cincinnati Reds at Truist Park. Ceballos slugged 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Cincinnati is now 39-41, Atlanta 40-40.
Cincinnati used the hitting of Elly De La Cruz to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Reds on top, 3-0. For the game, De La Cruz had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
Reds manager Jim Silveira Jr. wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
