Orioles Coast to 12-2 Victory
|
Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Baltimore Orioles take on the Seattle Mariners.
The Baltimore Orioles scored a convincing win at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, defeating the Seattle Mariners, 12-2. One of the hitting stars was five-time All-Star Adley Rutschman who was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winning pitcher was Kilwer Schmidt. He tossed 76 pitches over 5 innings, allowing no runs on 6 hits.
Early in the game, right fielder Cole Carrigg had a 2-run double for Baltimore. It was his 13th double of the season and put the Orioles on top, 2-0.
"Not my idea of a good time," Seattle manager Andres Wray said, when asked afterward about the game.
With the win, Baltimore raised its record to 42-39.
