Yankees Pull Out Late Win, 5-4
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies.
The New York Yankees had to overcome a big game from Philadelphia first baseman Aaron Zavala to leave Citizens Bank Park with a victory. And they did, winning, 5-4. Zavala was 1-1 with a home run, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The Yankees go to 32-47 with the win.
New York used a timely hit from Michael Brantley to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Yankees ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.
After the game, New York manager Sal Gaudio applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
