Dodgers Come Up Short at Chicago, 6-5
|
The Chicago Cubs had to overcome a big game from Los Angeles catcher Jesus Galiz to leave Wrigley Field with a victory. And they did, winning, 6-5. Galiz went 4-5 with 4 singles. He drove in 2 runs. The National League Central Division-leading Cubs have a record of 40-31.
Pete Crow-Armstrong had a big 2-run double for the Cubs in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Chicago leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Dustin May, who finished 5th in the NL in wins with 15 in 2024, and swatted a double to right. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cubs ahead, 4-1.
"It was a solid team effort," said Crow-Armstrong after the game.
